How to: Creating Binance API Keys to Connect with ITF Portfolios

This post is intended to provide you with an easy-to-follow, step-by-step guide for linking ITF Portfolios to your Binance Exchange account.

First, what is an API Key?

To connect ITF Portfolios with Binance, you need an API to talk to the exchange.

Below is what Binance says about API keys:

You will need an “API Key” and a “Secret Key” to link Binance with ITF Portfolios.

Step 1: Create your Binance API key and Secret Key

  • Set a name for your keys, and click on ‘Create New Key’.
  • You will receive an email for confirmation. Open it and confirm.
  • When confirmed, you will see the new API key and Secret Key.

  • Copy the new API Key and your Secret Key to use for the next steps.
  • Remember: Keep your keys in a safe place. When you leave the Binance website, your secret key will not be shown again.

For additional reference, see the Official Guide to API Creation on Binance.

Important: You do not need to give withdrawal permission. For security purposes, you are encouraged to not check the box ‘Enable Withdrawals’.

Step 2: Connect your Binance API Key to ITF Portfolios

  • Open your ITF Portfolios account.
  • Select “Exchanges”.

  • Click “Add exchange”.
  • Select your exchange, Binance.

  • Enter your API Key and your API Secret from Binance.

Note: We’ve added a test feature for you to test the connection of your exchange keys before linking your account. This ensures you won’t receive an error.

  • After ensuring you’ve input the correct API Key and Secret Key, select “Save” to link ITF Portfolios with your Binance exchange account.

Step 3: Choose your assets

For now, ITF Portfolios will allow you to choose from three pre-configured allocation strategies.

To choose your portfolio:

  • Select “Portfolio”

Our three portfolios currently provided are:

  • Conservative (50% BTC, 50% ETH)
  • Moderately Aggressive (50% BTC, 25% ETH, 25% LTC)
  • Aggressive (50% BTC, 10% ETH, 10% XRP, 10% LTC, 10% EOS)

Choose your portfolio and you’re ready to go.

And that's it - you are ready to go!

Now you can view your individual allocations into each asset, quickly assess their weightings in your overall portfolio, and begin considering your own rebalancing strategy.

You’ll have a bird’s-eye view of your investments and their value in real-time, whenever you need.
